Overview

About this system

Whole-home carbon filtration with nothing to plug in and nothing to reset.

The Non-Electric Upflow Carbon Filter improves the taste and smell of your water across the whole home, with no power, no backwash cycle, and no wastewater. Water flows up through a blended bed of catalytic carbon, granular activated carbon (GAC), and KDF 55 media, so it stays in contact with the media long enough to work without clogging or dropping your pressure. The valve, bypass, and fittings are included, and the upflow design keeps setup and upkeep simple.

How the media works

  • Catalytic carbon reduces chloramine and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
  • Granular activated carbon (GAC) reduces chlorine and many common chemicals.
  • KDF 55 media helps reduce certain heavy metals and keeps the carbon bed working longer.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What flow rate should I choose?

Most homes rarely exceed about 8.5 gallons per minute at peak, but it is smart to size to your home's peak potential. As a guide, homes with 1 to 3 bathrooms suit the 10 GPM system, homes with 4 to 5 bathrooms suit the 15 GPM system, and homes with 6 or more bathrooms suit the 20 GPM system.

Will this reduce my water pressure?

No. The system uses full 1 inch inlet and outlet ports and supports up to 25 gallons per minute of peak flow with no noticeable pressure loss, so you keep the water pressure you have now.

How long does the media last?

The media typically lasts 5 to 6 years, and then it should be replaced.

Is this a good fit for a home on a private well?

If your home is on a private well, start with a laboratory water analysis. Well water varies widely, and there are many factors to weigh before choosing a treatment system. City and municipal water is more predictable because it follows EPA standards, while wells can carry a range of competing contaminants. Order a 360 Water Test Kit to see what is in your water, and our team will match the right system to your results.
