Which flow rate is right for you?
Flow rate (GPM, gallons per minute) sets the peak water demand this conditioner can supply without a pressure drop. Because a salt-free system conditions the hardness minerals rather than removing them, there is no grain capacity to size and no regeneration to schedule. You are sizing for the busiest moment in your home.
- 10 GPM. Sized for smaller homes with 1 to 2 bathrooms and roughly 1 to 3 people. Comfortably runs a shower and a sink at the same time.
- 15 GPM. Our most popular size, for 3 to 4 bathrooms and about 3 to 5 people. Handles two showers plus another fixture running together.
- 20 GPM. For larger homes with 4 or more bathrooms and 5 or more people, or light commercial spaces. Holds full pressure with several showers and appliances running at once.
Not sure? A shower uses about 2.5 GPM and a kitchen faucet about 2.2 GPM, so count the fixtures that might run at once. When you are between sizes, size up. A larger conditioner costs nothing extra to run because there is no salt, no power, and no regeneration, and it keeps contact time generous at peak demand. Is this a water softener?
No, it is a salt-free conditioner. It prevents scale by crystallizing hardness minerals instead of removing them, so it does not create the slick feel of a salt softener and it keeps the beneficial minerals in your water.
Will my water still test hard?
Yes. Because the minerals are not removed, a hardness test will still read hard water. The difference is that those minerals can no longer stick to surfaces and form scale.
Does it need electricity or a drain?
